Community Convenience Center

Wise Services & Recycling is committed to increasing recycling awareness in our community. As such, we have provided a public convenience center for members of the local community to recycle their household items. We would like to thank everyone who contributes to keeping Culpeper and Virginia green by making the effort to reduce waste and recycle.

What can be recycled?
For the most part, almost any typical household item can be recycled. For clarification, the following items can be recycled in our public convenience center:
-
Aluminum Cans
- Also includes aluminum foil.
-
All Plastics numbered 1-7
- Most plastic containers should have an SPI (Society of the Plastics Industry) symbol and number located on them, usually on the bottom, though sometimes not. Those numbers are used to differentiate between the types of plastics so that they can be more readily sorted and recycled. You do not need to separate your plastics, simply put them all in the container provided. **Please do not put plastic bags in any of the containers. Likewise, do not put in plastic toys or plastic buckets (paint, drywall, etc.).
-
Tin Cans.
- Tin cans are typically containers for canned foods such as vegetables, soups, pet foods, etc. If you are unsure if your can is tin or aluminum, use a magnet- if the magnet sticks to the can, it is tin. **Tin cans are not Aluminum cans and should not be placed in the Aluminum receptacle and vice versa.
-
Newspaper
- Also includes phone books.
-
Office Paper
- This includes junk mail, white paper, printer paper, magazines and any paper that is not newspaper. **Please do not put office paper in the newspaper receptacle and vice versa.
- Cardboard
-
Glass
- We take brown, green and clear glass, each separated into their own container.
